Lake George is located in the old historical Village which bears its name, at the base of the Adirondacks Mountains. The Village is located in Warren County in New York State and lies on the route to Montreal in Canada. Lake George Village is home to the Fort William Henry, Mohican II, Old Warren County Courthouse Complex and the United States Post Office. The Lake George Steamboat Company still runs steamboats on the Lake.

Weather patterns here are pretty predictable. The best time to visit would be in the months of June to September with Lake George water temperature hovering around 74˚F and 80˚F. The hot weather breaks as fall approaches from mid 60˚F. You can access Lake George by car via the I-87 by taking exits 21 or 22 or by train from Albany or bus from Fort Edward.

However one has to drive to the Village by Car from the train or bus station. You can also fly into Albany International Airport and drive there.

As with all water bodies, Lake George offers great water sports to be involved in such as white water rafting. Boating is always a favourite and getting on one of the oldest steamship company steamboats with the Lake George Steamers is always a great way to explore. Try kayaking on the lake if you are a strong paddler and for adventurous fun, para-sailing over Lake George.
