Lake Ontario is nestled right between the Canadian province of Ontario and New York state. It is Canada’s most populated territory and its fourth largest by area. Ontario boasts over 250,000 lakes – holding about one third of the world’s fresh water.
The city is a multicultural centre holding annual events such as the Canadian Aboriginal Festival, Caribbean Carnival and their very own Oktoberfest.
Due to its geographical location, temperature in Ontario can range from 86°F down to -40°F.
The best time of year to visit Ontario and its many lakes would be between late May and mid-October. At this time the average water temperature of the area is consistently above 62°F, so going for a swim will not require thermal wetsuits!
The lake area has great accessibility by car, train and coach, the nearest domestic airports are Toronto City and Niagara International.
