Wasaga Beach is a wonderful swathe of pristine white sand on the shores of Georgian Bay in Canada’s Ontario Province. The longest freshwater beach in the world, it’s 9 miles of unspoiled beautiful scenery and crystal clear waters. The first Blue Flag awarded provincial park beach in Canada for its outstanding environmental management, Wasaga Beach is a massive draw for visitors.
Wasaga Beach Lake Huron: The current water temperature 37.4 °F
The temperature is too cold to swimWasaga Beach enjoys some of the warmest water temperatures on the shores of Georgian Bay thanks to the shallow coastal waters. The water can reach a balmy 56F in May to June with seasonal highs of around 74.4F from August to September and swimmers find the conditions exceptional. The shallow coastal waters extend for some distance so Wasaga Beach isn’t an ideal surfing spot, though kayaking is popular around the coves and islands nearby, and top class sailing on Georgian Bay is a big attraction.
Wasaga beach is on Nottawasaga Bay so summer days are warm and pleasant thanks to breezes from the water. However, in January through March low temperatures around 42.8F and windy conditions can see the waters freeze over, and heavy snowfalls occur which create perfect conditions for snowmobiling, cross country skiing and snowshoeing along the beach area.
